Doubleback is a camera app. It records video on your iPhone and keeps it there. It has no account, no sign in, no server of its own, and no analytics.
What the app records and where it stays
Video and sound you record are saved inside the app on your phone. Nothing is uploaded. Clips leave your phone only when you share them yourself, using the iOS share sheet, to whatever app or person you choose.
Camera and microphone
The app asks for camera and microphone access because it cannot record without them. It uses them only while the camera screen is open.
Location
If you allow location access, the app stamps each clip with where it was filmed, the way the built in Camera app does. That location is written into the clip's own file and into the app's clip list on your phone. It is not sent anywhere. If you decline, the app works the same without it.
Purchases
The one time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; the app never sees your payment details. To confirm the purchase and restore it on a new phone, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase verification service, which receives an anonymous identifier made by the app and the App Store receipt. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What the app does not do
- No account, and no name, email or phone number is asked for.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- No data sold or shared with anyone for marketing.
- No access to your photo library unless you share a clip into it.
Deleting your data
Delete a clip in the app and its file is gone from the phone. Delete the app and everything it stored goes with it.
Children
Doubleback is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
